A man was stabbed in the back on his way to the shops by a silent assailant.
The 28-year-old was attacked in Washington Road, in the Cambridge Road estate, after three men – two with their faces covered – approached him.
One of them stabbed him once in the back, police said.
The trio said nothing to the victim, and left in the direction of Tadlow House.
The attack took place at 10pm on Monday, October 21.
The first man was described as black, wearing a black puffa jacket, dark tracksuit top and trousers, with a white scarf across his face.
The second was also described as black, and as wearing dark clothes, with a black scarf covering his face.
The third, a mixed-race man, was dressed in a similar way, but his face was not covered.
All are thought to be between 18 and 28 years old.
Police have asked witnesses to come forward.
