The South West London International Film Festival (SWLIFF) will embarks on its second year this month.
The Colliers Wood based festival will welcome independent filmmakers from more than 44 countries including an 84-year-old Indian director and a 10-year-old local schoolboy with a passion for investigative reporting.
Laurentiu Huianu, director, said: "The festival will provide a great opportunity to see lots of movies made by up-and-coming local film directors as well as renowned international names.
"Last year the place was absolutely packed with people. It made me see that people are really interested in films and this festival is here to stay."
More than 40 short films will be screened throughout the family friendly event on Saturday, November 30, with cartoons and animations in the morning and dramas and documentaries later in the afternoon.
Mr Huianu added: "My main interest is to get a lot of youngsters to submit films and keep them off the street."
The Grand Jury Prize, the Golden Leaf, will be given for the best overall entry at the award ceremony at 7.30pm, which will be followed by a party for all visitors.
