Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has played down post-match talks with Eagles co-chairman Steve Parish – but he will be speaking to him again tomorrow.

Holloway took an hour and a half to come up to his post-match press conference following the 4-1 defeat to Fulham at Selhurst Park, having been dragged in for talks with Parish.

But Holloway, whose side has lost seven of their first eight games in the Premier League, insists there was nothing untoward.

“Steve and I have got a very good relationship and I think we work very well together,” he said.

“It’s just a year we’ve been together and me and him talk all the time which is not always reported and not always accurate - I want what’s best for Palace and he does as well.

“We’ll chat again tomorrow but we’re both very disappointed.

“We worked very hard over the summer to bring in some new players and that hasn’t gelled yet and it’s a big ask.”

Adrian Mariappa gave Palace the lead but wonder strikes from Patjim Kasami and Steve Sidwell and goald from Dimitar Berbatov and Philippe Senderos completed the rout.
