Experience a real-life Tales from the Crypt is taking place as authors read horror stories from within a cemetery.

Thrill seekers looking for something unique are invited to the spooky event in the Wandsworth Cemetery Chapel, in Magdalen Road, Earlsfield.

Authors Stella Duffy, Tania Hershman, Adam Marek and Alex Preston will be reading traditional ghost stories as well as their own devlish creations..

Cathy Galvin, of The Word Factory, came up with the idea alongside help from Wandsworth Arts Team.

The former Sunday Times journalist, who lives in Tooting,  said: "I think it will be great fun, you find people love being sat down and being told a story, you can see people being captivated by the pieces.

"A lot of literary festivals can be a little bit like them and us. What we do is much more intimate, it is a small space, everybody can grab a drink."

Guests are encouraged to wrap up warm and prepare for some terrifying tales.

If it proves to be a success Ms Galvin hopes to bring more reading events to Wandsworth.

The event is taking place on November 8, with tickets costing £12 in advance and £5 concessions.
