Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery in West Norwood.

Officers were called to Norwood High Street at about 1.30pm on Tuesday, September 3, to reports of a robbery in a shop.

Upon arrivals officers searched the area and spoke to staff in the shop who told them two men had entered the premises and walked behind the counter of the shop.

When challenged the first suspect pushed back a member of staff and produced a knife and the second suspect then grabbed a quantity of cash.

Both men then fled the scene into Norwood High Street, turning right as soon as they left the shop and running into Chapel Road.

No one was injured in the robbery and there have been no arrests.

The first suspect is described as a black man, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5ft 5ins, aged between 22- and 27-years-old and wore a black New York Yankees baseball hat, black hoodie and blue jeans.

The second suspect was a black man with plaited black hair, a beard and a goatee. He is 5ft 11ins , aged between 22- and 27-years-old and was wearing a Manchester United replica shirt with blue jeans.
