The public got a last glimpse of Croydon Council's newly vacated headquarters - and the panoramic views enjoyed by its staff - on Saturday.
The viewing platform at the top of Taberner House opened its doors as part of Open House London, an annual city-wide celebration of the capital's usually restricted spaces.
Visitors were taken to the dizzy heights of the building's 18th floor in groups of 30, with council officers on-hand to answer questions.
The viewing gallery offers sweeping panoramas of the London skyline as well as the south-east, with major landmarks including Wembley Stadium, the Shard and Canary Wharf all visible.
The council this month vacated Taberner House, its home since the 1960s, in favour of the newly constructed Benard Weatherill House.
Councillor Mike Fisher, leader of the council, said: "This is a great way to bring the curtain down on the Taberner House era by inviting the public in for one last time.
“The stunning panoramic views from the top of the building are among the finest in London."
