Croydon residents got a chance to take a look behind the scenes at a police open day this weekend.

Berin Underwood House, Croydon's new custody centre, in Windmill Road, opened its doors from 10am on Sunday morning to members of the public.

Visitors got the chance to speak to Croydon Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent David Musker and other senior officers from the borough.

Youngsters also got a chance to try on some riot gear as well as sitting in a police van.

Police dog units, Croydon’s Safer Transport Team and Volunteer Police Cadets were also in attendance on the day.
