A Wimbledon performing arts student has made it through to the Open Mic UK 2013 regional finals.
Ryane Winning, 17, a former Ricards Lodge High School pupil, now at Nescot College in Epsom will compete against singers, rappers and vocalists in the live showcases of the competition.
Ryane began singing in her school choir at Dundonald Primary school and has since performed at the Wimbledon Village Fair and the O2 Young Voices.
She said: "I have an interest in a variety of music genres, I mainly listen to mainstream and enjoy recreating them into my own styles.
"My ambition is open my own stage school as I love teaching and sharing my passion for music and singing with others.
Ryane is competing for a place in the final at the O2 in London with a chance to be signed on a record contract.
