After an unusual makeover, a retro campervan now drives around laden with cupcakes, traditional biscuits and homemade lemonade.

Bronya and Jules, fromThe Daisy Cake Company, have kitted out a 1970 VW Dormobile in order to share their love of tea and cake.

The Daisy Cake Company is based in Banstead but its dormobile travels out to public shows, markets, corporate event and parties all over the place.

Bronya Seifert, owner, cake designer and baker, said: "The Daisy Cake Company has been attending fairs and events for a couple of years, but found the usual 'gazebo' stall set-up to be very restrictive, and not really reflective of what the company is about.

"We started looking at ideas for mobile catering vans or trailers but didn't really want to go with the usual modern trailer. The Daisy Cake Company needed something with more character.

Your Local Guardian:

"My husband, Jules, and I have always loved vintage cars and for many years have wanted a campervan and it just seemed an obvious choice for our mobile catering.

"It's full of character, cute, eye catching, and fun - perfect for tea and Daisy Cakes!" The couple have lived in Banstead for seven years and the cakes are baked in their council inspected kitchen in Fir Tree Road.

The campervan sometimes sets off to kids' parties laden with children’s sandwiches, crisps, fruits, lemonade and cup cakes ready to be decorated.

On other days it visits parties, hen dos and baby showers bearing afternoon tea with finger rolls, homemade scones and cakes. The Daisy Cake Company bakes cupcakes, layer cakes and celebration cakes which are iced by hand.

There is also a large selection of homemade biscuits including bourbons, custard creams, cookies, rocky road and Vienesse fingers.
