Cheam's Brenda Creasey won silver at the Badminton Veterans World Championships despite it being the first time she has ever represented England.
Partnering Betty Bartlett, the pair narrowly lost out to an experienced English pair from Lancashire/Yorkshire in the over 60 Ladies doubles event in Ankara, Turkey last Saturday.
In reaching the final, Creasey and Bartlett beat strong opposition from Netherlands/Sweden, Canada, and in the semi-final had a dramatic two set win over talented and tenacious opponents from Japan.
Brenda is a member of Ebbisham Sports Club in Epsom, where she also coaches the younger juniors.
