A man drove home to find a trio of burglars leaving his house last week.

The homeowner challenged the men, all white, who were walking down his driveway, in Derek Avenue, Epsom, at 3.30pm on Tuesday, September 10.

The trio made an excuse then went down the road and turned left onto Chessington Road in the direction of Ruxley Lane.

The victim discovered his house had been thoroughly searched but it is not known if anything was stolen.

Police are looking for a man in his 40s, about 5ft 4in, with medium to large build, who was wearing a brown zipped top, grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

The other two men in their early 20s were of medium build. One of them was about 5ft 6in and wore tracksuit bottoms and the other was 5ft 1in and wore a black jacket.

Detective Constable Portia Andrews said: "The victim was able to provide three good descriptions of the men suspected to have carried out this burglary.

"I would appeal to anyone who can identify the men or who saw people matching their description acting suspiciously in the area to contact officers with information."

Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference EP/13/3824, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
