The Royal Mail may be privatised within weeks by the Government which is much to my dismay.

What will be the fate of many post offices throughout the UK including post offices in the Sutton area like the branch in Ross Parade, Wallington, which was earmarked for closure?

I myself signed the petition against the closure and sent an e-mail to Tom Brake MP setting out my objections sometime ago.

The Royal Mail sell-off to my mind will cause job losses and closures of local facilities regarding services which for some residents are a life-line especially for the elderly who use them regularly.

The argument that the services will be transferred to supermarkets or shops like the one in Carshalton and still given a reliable service to local residents is all well and good - but some elderly people in the Sutton area don’t always want to travel further afield for these amenities.

Don’t people’s livelihoods matter anymore?

Once again I feel the Government’s agenda on this issue is profits before people unfortunately what is not viable sell it off.
