A Putney man is one of a quartet accused of attempting to rob Santander Bank of millions of pounds by remotely taking control of computers.
Lanre Mullins-Abudu, 25, was part of a 'cyber gang' alleged to have tried to use a "keyboard video mouse" device to assume control of each of the branch's computers.
It is alleged one of the plotters posed as an engineer and attempted to fit the device to a computer in the Surrey Quays branch, south-east London, which would enable the desktop's contents to be transmitted.
However, a spokesman for the Spanish bank confirmed that no money was stolen.
Last week, 12 men were arrested at addresses in Hounslow, Westminster and Slough and as a result four men were charged with conspiracy to steal.
Mr Mullins-Abudu appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday (September 14).
Dean Outram, 34, from north-west London; Akash Vaghela, 27, from Hounslow; and Asad AliQureshi, 35, from south-west London, also appeared at the same court.
Mr Mullins-Abudu, Mr Outram and Mr AliQureshi were all remanded in custody by District Judge Howard Riddle and will next appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 27.
Mr Vaghela was released on bail until the same date.
Eight other people have been bailed to a date in mid-November pending further inquiries.
