A Weybridge care home will mark World Alzheimer’s Day later this month by unveiling an art exhibit displaying resident’s artwork.
Art of Sunrise will demonstrate pieces specially created by seniors from Sunrise of Weybridge in Ellesmere Road and will include work from people living with dementia.
The event will begin at 11.30am on Saturday, September 21, and will treat guests to a champagne reception and a live two hour performance from pianist Jo Stewart.
Christine Bunce, general manager at Sunrise of Weybridge, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the art gallery, which will be a fantastic way to mark the talent of seniors.
“Many of our residents find drawing and painting a relaxing hobby, and they really enjoy the regular art activities we hold here. The gallery will be a wonderful way to showcase their talents.”
The walk-in gallery, run in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Society, will be operating until September 28.
