A festival-goer with a 'vibrant personality' was struck dead by at least four cars on Saturday.

The crash victim, 32, has been named as Australian Paul Wickerson who had been visiting friends and family in Leatherhead.

Mr Wickerson, from Sydney, was hit while walking away from Brownstock music festival in Essex at about 10.45pm.

In tribute his family said: "Paul had achieved all he wanted educationally, culminating in a masters degree from Imperial College, London. Following university he worked abroad in the oil industry.

"His interests were varied including snowboarding, football, golf and travelling. Paul fulfilled many things in his life displaying his vibrant personality at all times."

Essex Police said it is believed pedestrian Mr Wickerson 'was in collision with at least four cars'.

The crash happened on the B1012, Lower Burnham Road, near the junction with Fambridge Road at about 10.45pm on Saturday night.

The man in blue denim shorts, who might have been bare-chested, is thought to have been walking towards Fambridge across fields or along the roadside.

Rapper Professor Green and musician Tom Odell performed on the main stage at Brownstock music festival, in Morris Farm, that night.
