Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has been named the third worst in the country for cancer patient care.
Macmillan Cancer Support analysed a nationwide survey of 68,000 cancer patients, who were asked about issues such as whether they felt supported, informed and were treated with respect.
The charity said hospitals were ranked according to the number of times they appeared in the lowest 20 percent of the results for the 63 questions.
Only Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Barts Health NHS Trust, scored worse than Croydon University Hospital.
Carol Fenton, Macmillan's General Manager in London said: "It is unacceptable that some cancer patients in London are being let down by hospitals failing to provide crucial support, alongside medical treatment."
Macmillan Cancer Support has a strong partnership with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, having invested in 15 staff posts, including nurse specialists in areas such as palliative care, breast and lung cancer.
There is also a Macmillan Cancer information specialist and information and support centre. The charity also recently funded two counsellors with a focus on improving care for patients and their carers, as well as funding the Macmillan Croydon CAB Service, which delivers sessions at the Trust.
Areas the hospital scored highly in were patients GPs being given enough information about a patient's condition and their treatment and people being told they could bring a friend to their appointment.
They were also praised for being able to explain what was wrong and for telling patients how the side effects of treatments could affect them in future.
A spokesman for the trust said it was "disappointing" that overall the trust had done worse than last year.
Zoe Packman, Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals for Croydon University Hospital said: "It is disappointing to see there are areas that we do less well in this year’s survey.
"It is essential that we learn from what our patients say as this survey shows us the quality of care we deliver is not always as good as it could be."
