I was on holiday last week so I wrote this on a sunny morning in Devon. We had a fabulous time but I wondered what was happening on Surrey Street while I was away. So, this week, I'm asking you to find some of its secrets and add a little magic of your own.

Last time, I told you how we found the amazing UGLI fruit on Surrey Street and how much fun and enjoyment many people down there that day were having with them.

The Surrey Street fruit and vegetable traders are up very early to get their produce from Spitalfields Market. Ali, who you saw last week with the UGLI, gets there at 2am. They go with lists and plans but are also looking for special deals and some, like Ali, will try new things when they see a good offer worth taking a gamble on.

Every day, there are wonderful fruits and vegetables from all over the word to find on Surrey Street. I'm wondering what special rarities are there this week.

I love cooking, especially Chinese, Thai, African and Caribbean dishes and am always looking for recipes to try out.

So, this week, I would love it if you could let me know what you've found down at the market and share how you cooked it. It would be wonderful if you could also share your stories around recipes, such as where they come from, who cooked it for you or taught you it or any other memories you have.

I promise I will try out every recipe you send me. I don't eat meat so will adapt meat dishes. I will share my cooking adventures here. I'm also in talks about writing a Surrey Street Market recipe book, full of recipes and stories from Surrey Street Traders so your recipe could well end up in there too.

You can send your recipes and stories to me at milnesarah@me.com. I'm really looking forward to trying them out and to hearing what has been going on in Surrey Street while I've been away.
