A man was cut from his car as part of a demonstration by fire fighters to highlight the dangers of dangerous driving.
Crew members from Wimbledon fire station carried out the demonstration in Wimbledon’s town centre on Tuesday, August 27 as part of a road traffic collision (RTC) reduction strategy.
About 300 people stood to watch two demonstrations to free casualties from vehicles, one of which was overturned.
Jim Drewitt, station manager at Wimbledon fire station, said: "This is the second RTC demonstration that has been staged in the borough this year with a third planned for Christmas.
"They are all themed and centre around young drivers, use of a mobile phone while driving and drink driving."
Members of the casualty union, London ambulance service, police and Merton council’s road safety team took part in the day while Morrisons provided catering.
