A charity that supports slum dwellers on the streets of Kolkata is looking for volunteers to take part in a fire walk in Clapham.
Calcutta Rescue Fund (CRF) is holding the sponsored fire walk at Holy Trinity Church on Clapham Common on the night of Saturday, September 14.
Blaze, the market leader in fire walking in the UK, is running the event.
Sean Duggan, group editor of the Wandsworth Guardian and a trustee at CRF, said: "I did my first fire walk, run by Blaze, last autumn for a local hospice and immediately decided to organise one for CRF.
"It is such an exciting thing to do but is actually quite safe when run by a company like Blaze. And by doing it for this outstanding little charity you will make a real difference to the lives of the very poorest people in India, helping them get free medical care, education and employment opportunities."
