The Whitgift Almshouses were brought to life last weekend as guests enjoyed its annual charity garden party.
Residents and their families, as well as congregations from local churches enjoyed the live music, a raffle and tombola at the event in the 400 year old courtyard on Saturday.
More than £1,200 was raised at the event, which had a Back to School theme, with proceeds donated to local charity Small Steps for Sophie and the residents' own social fund.
Small Steps for Sophie was set up by the parents of four year old Cerebral Palsy sufferer Sophie, to enable her to undergo life changing operations and allow her to walk independently.
Sophie was given the important task at the event of drawing the raffle. The Whitgift Almshouses is home to 15 residents over the age of 60, and was founded by Archbishop John Whitgift in 1596.
Organisers and Almshouse Wardens, Jovita Rodrigues and Michelle Mullane, said: "This year’s Garden Party was fantastic and enjoyed by all who attended.
"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out particularly the many youngsters who gave up their time to support us."
