Elmbridge Mencap is to celebrate the three days of art workshops it put on for adults with learning difficulties with one final event.
The celebration will take place at Burview Hall, Weybridge, on September 27, where people will be able to see the creations on display.
The sessions took place in August and September where the artistic activities included decorating lanterns and painting slumped glass, both of which will be lit from underneath to create an exhibition at the next event.
The project was funded by Walton Charity and the RC Sherriff Trust, while Walton Charity also provided administrative and promotional support for the workshops.
Jean Rigden, chairman of Elmbridge Mencap, said of the first workshop: “Everyone had a good day and we are looking forward to the next two workshops.”
Elmbridge Mencap is currently seeking new volunteers to help out at their weekly sessions and to help with the maintenance of the hall.
To become a volunteer call 01932 221304 or email elmbridgemencap@btconnect.com.
