Members of Sutton’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community celebrated the end of Ramadan with the mayor of Sutton and an MP.

The group held a lunch at Banstead Civic Hall on Saturday, August 17, to mark Eid ul Fitr as well as celebrating the organisation’s centenary.

Ahmadiyya Muslims are the largest and the fastest growing Muslim Community in Sutton with their nearest Mosque being in London Road, Morden.

The MP for Carshalton and Wallington, Tom Brake, said: "I was very pleased to be able to attend Sutton’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Eid celebration on Saturday.

"At a difficult time in the world, it was reassuring to hear their message of ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’.

"I commend them for the outreach work they do to explain their faith and the contribution they make to communities here and abroad."
