Police are searching for a woman with mental health problems who has run away from Epsom Hospital.
Emily Burnett, 21, from Ashtead, escaped from Epsom Hospital, on Dorking Road, Epsom, at 5.50pm yesterday, August 7, with another woman who has since returned.Miss Burnett was receiving treatment at the hospital, having previously been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
She was last seen in Clapham Junction yesterday evening.
She is known to have links to Devon and Brighton and police officers believe she may have travelled to these areas or elsewhere.
Miss Burnett is white, about 5ft 1ins, slim, with shoulder-length, straight blonde hair.
She was wearing a brown, striped jumper with a picture of a skull on it, black trousers, black canvas shoes and yellow, plastic- rimmed, rectangular glasses when last seen.
Detective Sergeant Antony Preston, of Surrey Police’s Missing Persons Unit, said: "We are concerned for the welfare of Miss Burnett and are seeking the public's help in our efforts to locate her.
"She is not believed to pose any threat to the wider public but it is imperative that she is found and able to continue her treatment.
"If Miss Burnett sees or hears this appeal, I would urge her to make contact either by calling 101 or coming in to a police station."
Anyone who has seen a woman matching Miss Burnett's description should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference M/13/800.
