If you love to sing and are up for a challenge, the latest one-day choral event at the Rose Theatre is for you.

After the success of last year’s jubilee concert and a Valentine’s special in February, the Rose Plus Choir is back.

Brave singers learn a list of songs in just one day, then perform to family, friends, and the public in the evening.

The theme this time around is seasonal – so expect some Autumn Leaves, some Winter Winds, The Springtime of the Year, and a Summer Holiday, along with other favourites.

West End professionals Noa Bodner, Richard Hartley Wilson and Alex Young will also join in.

Musical director Eamonn O’Dwyer says: “I absolutely love rehearsing with the Rose Plus Choir because of the aspect of challenge involved.

“Learning eight or nine songs in a day is no mean feat, and it instantly puts everyone on a level playing field.

“Whether you’re a regular chorister, or whether you only ever sing in the shower, we all have to learn new tunes and new harmonies at the rate of about half-an-hour per song.

“I'm also very lucky to have a crack team of West End soloists at my disposal.

“They are professionals at the top of their game, and they sing along with the choir all day, then perform their own solos and duets in the concert too.”

Coffee in the morning is included in the price to give choristers the energy to power through the day.
