Duck experts at the London Wetland Centre have celebrated the arrival of three seperate families of shoveler ducklings this summer.
Three families of the large-billed ducks bred at the centre for the first time this year.
Shovelers are a rare species of dabbling duck with a long, broad spatula-shaped beaks and the four varieties of this species are the red shoveler, cape shoveler, Australasian shoveler and northern shoveler.
The London Wetland Centre is a 105 acre wetland visitor centre in Putney/Barnes common an international award-winning visitor attraction and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
It is home to a wide range of wildlife species including birds, water voles, bats and amphibians.
