The former partner of a Croydon man found dead in his flat in Brighton has denied murder.

But Ricardo Pisano - nicknamed the 'Artful Dodger' pleaded guilty to preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body, when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court today.

The 36-year-old pleaded not guilty to murdering Michael Polding who was discovered dead with multiple injuries in his flat in Brighton, on July 16, last year.

The 62-year-old is believed to have died in May 2012. He had moved to the property from Croydon in August 2011.

Mr Pisano also denied grievous bodily harm against Mr Polding.

He was remanded in custody until his trial at the same court on November 4.
