MP Garvin Barwell went blind to mark the launch of a new service to help the visually impaired.
The Croydon Central MP was taken on a blindfolded walk along Wellesley Road to highlight the difficulties facing blind people.
The My Guide scheme, run charities Guide Dogs and Croydon Visual, will see visually impaired people partnered with volunteers.
Pairs will spent two hours a week for up to six months helping them to get out and about, improving their confidence, independence and emotional and physical health.
