Hospital workers who help cancer patients and carers are among the winners of staff awards.
Staff from Epsom Hospital’s Macmillan Butterfly Centre, which offers cancer information and support, won the patient choice award at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Elvira Giordano, health care assistant in the special care baby unit at Epsom Hospital, was named nursing support worker of the year.
Chief Executive Matthew Hopkins said: "Behind each winner and nomination is an inspiring tale of hard work, commitment and dedication – and it never fails to amaze me.”
Over at St Helier Hospital ward sister Elson Hanson, operating theatre matron Anna Stedeford and healthcare assistant Daniel Tambogon won awards.
Palliative care team leader Julia Lowes, community midwife Laura Clarke, ward A6 healthcare assistants, waste manager Gloria Randall and senior HR manager Lisa Carter also won awards.
Mary Nee, house keeper in Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children, won the chairman’s cup.
