The group departed at 9.30am from the nursery premises in Overton Road, Sutton, and marched 12.8 miles to the Capital Radio offices in Central London.
Three-month-old Tyler died of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) and the nursery are supporting his family through these difficult times.
Tyler’s uncle, Anthony Holleyman, works at the nursery and said: “We are extremely grateful for all the support our family has received from the nursery and the community. It has meant a lot to us all.”
The walk is just one in a series of events being organised by Tyler’s family and the nursery.
All money collected will be donated to The Lullaby Trust which provides specialist support for bereaved families and advises on safer baby sleep.
Nursery manager Emma Howard said: “Anthony is a valued member of our team. What happened with baby Tyler is devastating, and we would like to offer his family our support.
“Such a sudden loss is extremely difficult to deal with – we wish that no one would ever have to go through such a tragedy.”
