The world’s biggest private mint has created a range of coins to commemorate the birth of the royal baby boy.

The Pobjoy Mint, based in Bonsor Drive, Kingswood, which strikes coins for more than 20 countries around the world, has produced three coins to mark the occasion, which have been released on behalf of the British Virgin Islands and South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands.

One coin depicts the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and the other the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William.

A Privy Mark has been added to each coin showing baby footprints, coloured in blue, and the new heir-to-the-throne’s birth date.

The third coin shows the couple kissing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on their wedding day.

A Privy Mark has been added to the coin which shows a blue stork delivering a precious bundle with the new baby’s date of birth.

Taya Pobjoy, managing director of the mint, said: "We approached the British Virgin Islands and South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands when we found out the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant and asked if they would like to do something when the baby was born and they said they did."

The other side of each coin features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
