A man was arrested after police discovered drugs and a large amount of cash at his home.

Officers from the Broad Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team, supported by other offices, executed a search warrant at the address in Gardeners Road, Broad Green, at about 8am on July 10, after receiving information drugs were at the property.

A search of the premises found cocaine and cannabis, as well as other suspected drugs paraphernalia items.

Police also found and seized several thousands of pounds in cash at the address.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs and money laundering.

He has since been bailed to return to a south London police station on September 3, pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Steve Ribano from the Broad Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "We continue to target those people either using or supplying drugs in our local community.

"The presence of drugs often leads to other crimes and antisocial behaviour in an area, so it is important people continue to tell us if they think drugs are present in their community so that we can take appropriate action."

Anyone with information about the presence of drugs in their local area can contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods team by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
