A girl suffering form type 1 diabetes completed a fund raising walk to raise awareness about the illness.

Olivia Williams, 13, from Carshalton Beeches, finished the two mile walk in less than 30 minutes along with her mother, brother and two sisters.

About 50 people took part and look set to have raised more than £1000.

Liz Thornton, South East Regional Fund-raising Manager, said: " It was great to see so many local families taking part and we are very grateful for their achievements in aid of Diabetes UK .

"The event also highlighted how important it is for people with diabetes to live a healthy lifestyle"
