Six people have been arrested on suspicion of cultivating a class B drug, following a fire in Walton last night.
The flat above Glitzy Nails in Terrace Road was engulfed in flames at about 11pm yesterday.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said they were made aware of the fire by Surrey Fire and Rescue at about 11.25pm yesterday.
During a search of the address and adjoining premises, about 40 to 50 cannabis plants were found in an outbuilding.
Police confirmed that five people, a 32-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, a 33-year-old man and a sixth person, were arrested and are currently in custody.
A sixth person, a 28-year-old man, was arrested this morning and is also in custody.
Surrey Fire and Rescue service is still investigating the cause of the fire.
