Night owls could soon be able to enjoy a late night burger binge if a fast food restaurant is granted extended opening hours.
Burger King in the Priory Retail Park in Colliers Wood has applied to Merton Council to extend the opening hours of its drive-thru service.
Under the plans the fast food restaurant's drive-thru would remain open all hours, making it the only 24 hours food outlet in the area.
The restaurant itself will close at 11pm, opening at 7am, each day.
A spokesperson for Burger King said it had applied for the late night refreshment licence in an effort to provide service to customers for longer periods of the day.
A public consultation on the plans is currently underway and will end on April 17.
