As a director of Kippa Bid,  representing over a hundred companies on the Kimpton Industrial Park, we have surveyed our members who are shocked and dismayed that St Helier Hospital’s A&E may be closed.

Our members have serious concerns if it closes as it could be the difference between life and death with the increased distance for emergency treatment.

As businessmen and women it is impossible to understand how a busy A&E unit in a very populated area can be closed.

Apart from the practical difficulties for young families and the elderly to travel, the workload on the other hospitals will be intolerable.

They want to spend more than £200m on the hospital. Where is the business sense? It could be a better hospital not worse.
