Tributes have flooded in for a 14-year-old who died last week.

Family and friends have paid their respects to Liam Hardy, a pupil at Carshalton Boys Sports College.

A memorial has been set up in front of the school which has been covered with flowers and hundreds of messages.

The popular teenager was known for his DJing, basketball and support for Arsenal Football Club.

The school has been inundated with messages of support from parents and the community.

Liam has been described as polite, well behaved and loved by staff at the school.

His godmother wrote: “Liam was a handsome and popular boy who was loved and highly thought of by all."

A family member said: “For those of you who don't know Liam there are no words alone to describe him.

“He was one in a million. He was an outstanding boy, thoughtful, kind and caring, with a very loving and supportive family around him.

“We will miss him so much, forever he will be in our hearts.”

Another tribute read: "Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very sad time.

"My daughter and grandson are friends of Liam and are totally devastated. RIP Liam, sleep tight sweetheart."

The college’s headteacher Simon Barber described him as a happy and popular boy who will be greatly missed by staff and students alike.

A Facebook page has also been set up to remember the teenager.

Liam was found hanging at his grandparents’ home on Monday, November 19, in Stonecot Hill, Sutton.

He died on Tuesday, November 27. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
