An award winning play exploring the awkward time of adolescence is returning to Battersea Arts Centre (BAC).

Operation Greenfield by company Little Bulb features a stage full of instruments and an eclectic mix of live music.

The show follows four teenagers as they prepare for the Stokely village talent competition.

Rehearsals are filled with ladders, Elvis and Forest Fruits squash, with the stakes for the competition high.

The performance aims to capture the confusing, awkwardness and naïve time of adolescence, with young beliefs having to re-adjust to the adult world.

Each actor demonstrates their great skills as musicians during the show, representing the company's most ambitious production so far of the interplay of music and theatre.

It was commissioned and developed by BAC, while scooping a Herald Angel Award during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010.

The company are currently working with BAC to develop Orpheus for Spring 2013, which fuses the underworld myth with the 1930s Parisian jazz scene.

Actors will be living in the theatre during the run of Operational Greenfield in the venue's individually designed artist bedrooms.

The company are one of the theatre's regular artists and frequently stay in the rooms, developed for the One one One Festival in March 2011.
