Four-time world snooker champion Ronnie “the Rocket” O’Sullivan is due to play live in Fairfield Halls in a match against fellow legend “the Whirlwind,” Jimmy White.

After having won the championship title again earlier this month, O’Sullivan revoked suggestions he was going to retire, which he had made during the semi-finals. Instead, he announced his intention to take a short sabbatical leave, much to the relief of snooker fans.

But with six months before he returns to the game, this one-off match with friend and former world seniors champion Jimmy White is a great opportunity to witness two stars of snooker go head to head. The evening will feature former snooker professional John Virgo as host and referee Michaela Tabb, who also oversaw the 2012 World Championship final.
