Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rumoured to be tying the knot this weekend at their French chateau.

The couple, who have been dubbed Brangelina, sparked speculation as they are apparently planning to host a family bash at their home Chateau Miraval in the south of France on Saturday, according to X17online.com.

"Everyone in town is talking about it; in Correns (the small village near Miraval), it's common knowledge that the wedding is happening soon," a source told the website.

While the party is apparently to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Brad's parents Jane and Bill, there is some buzz in the area that it is just a cover for a wedding, The Sun claimed.

But X17online.com later reported that their photographer had visited the property and found nothing out of the ordinary.

They claimed there were no signs of preparations for a major event and it was "business as usual" at the chateau.

Brad and Angelina, who met on the set of their film Mr And Mrs Smith in 2005, announced their engagement in April through the actor's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante.

She said that the engagement "is a promise for the future", and that "their kids are very happy".

The couple, who have three adopted children and three biological children, previously declared that they would not wed until gay marriage is legalised, but Brad told The Hollywood Reporter: "We'd actually like to, and it seems to mean more and more to our kids.

"We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out."
