• Who’s who?

We are four Croydon guys and one Glaswegian girl. The rythmn section are Tom Kirkham and Nic Klaus, guitars are Andy Brook and Illy and the sexy siren on lead vocals is Hollie Evans.

  • Sound and influences

Sounds like a rock band built on all the best influences of rock, classic and modern but to list all those influences will be an exhausting task. If you like rock and its spin offs, we’re sure that we’ve got something for you.

  • When did it all start and how?

Almost three years ago in a loft with a lot of tea, after a vision that came from the retinal after-image we got by staring at the TV then turning it off very quickly.

  • Where do you play?

Anywhere we can as we love playing live. At the moment we are in Glasgow as part of a UK tour. We have also played to crowds in excess of 6,000 people supporting Status Quo and Uriah Heep.

  • Any singles/EPs/albums?

We have just finished our debut album which is produced by Quo frontman Francis Rossi and Gregg Jackman (Seal, Enya, Prince). It will be available on general release in the new year.

  • Band you wish you had been in?

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix experience, Buddy Holly and the Crickets… they all rock.

  • Song you wish you had written and why?

The Birdie Song by Chick-a-dee for its epic melody and pure dance-ability.

  • What's your fantasy festival line-up?

The Killers, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Queens of the stone Age, The Cult, Jellyfish, Chick-a-dee and Maccara.

  • What's your nightmare line-up?

Black Lace and Tony Christie with Mis-Teeq singing the entire Leonard Nimoy catalogue.

  • Any embarrassing moments?

On this tour we are supporting Uriah Heep and Hollie managed to walk into their dressing room when they were all sweaty and naked. The embarrassing bit is she stayed there and talked about fish and chips with them.

  • Anything else?

We end our tour on Sunday at the London Astoria but will be doing more dates in the new year. For more details see myspace.com/maccaraband.
