Football, music and beer go naturally together and will be on offer during a special event at Crystal Palace FC.

And organisers of the second annual CPFC Beer Festival have promised a ready supply of all three for the event, on May 26.

The CAMRA-backed festival, held in the Holmesdale Road Stand, will bring together a vast array of ciders and ales from across the UK, according to a spokesman.

More than 1,200 people attended last year's inaugural event, and demand for tickets for this year's festival has been unprecedented, said a spokesman.

"Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the response," said Crystal palace FC CEO, Phil Alexander.

"News of the festival has spread to the brewing industry and we have had coverage from trade as well as national publications.

"I urge those that haven't yet bought tickets to do so soon."

Actor, Crystal Palace fan and producer of Palace Ale, Neil Morrissey, will open the festival in the Palace Ale Bar.

The renamed bar will be offering 100 ales and 20 ciders to try during the afternoon and early evening.

Also on the menu is live music and pub grub, as well as live sport on screens throughout the bars and concourses.

The Crystal Girls will also be on hand to provide some smooth moves.

There will also be one or two surprises and some very special guests.

Tickets, costing £6, including a free commemorative pint glass, are available from the box office on 08712 00 00 71, or online.
