Figure skating and opera unite in a unique high-definition screening of the spectacular Opera On Ice.

Dorking Halls will show the never-before-screened recording of the performance filmed at Italy’s Verona Arena - the largest open-air opera theatre in the world.

It was the first time the renowned venue had opened its doors to figure skating.

The show, to be screened all over the world, allows all ages to enjoy opera and figure skating in an exciting new way.

It features world-renowned opera singers, figure skaters and the Verona Arena Orchestra and Chorus, comprising more than 200 members.

Expect some of the most famous arias from operas including Don Giovanni, Aida, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Turandot, Rigoletto, Nabucco, William Tell and many more.

The figure skating stars on show are among the best in the world, including Italian European Champion Carolina Kostner, Olympic champion Stephane Lambiel and Vancouver 2010 vice Olympic champions Qing Pang and Jian Tong.

Kostner said: "To have the starring role in this magnificent show is a great honour for me.

"For me, and all the other stars taking part in Opera On Ice, it’s a dream come true because, for once, our performances are removed from the sports environment and become pure entertainment in the unique setting of the Verona Arena.

"It is the most beautiful show I have ever taken part in."
