Travel back to 1950s Boston this week as a new musical comedy ‘whodunnit’ hits the stage.

Set in 1950s Boston, Curtains is a murder mystery featuring a lively cast from The Wimbledon Light Opera Society (WLOS).

The show opens with the murder of "untalented" leading lady, Jessica Cranshaw, on her opening night bringing the entire company under suspicion of her murder.

Follow Detective Frank Cioffi as he races to find the culprit, save the show and get the girl without falling victim himself in what organisers have called a "hilarious send-up of backstage murder mysteries" with no shortage of show tunes along the way.

From the creators of Cabaret and Chicago - Kander & Ebb - the WLOS is one of the first amateur groups to stage the show in London.

Suzannah Bailey, who has been performing with the WLOS for two and a half years, said: "We are now in the final rehearsal period, which is very exciting but when nerves tend to kick in.

"In this show there are lots of technicalities (you'll have to see it to see how a cast member is murdered onstage!) and cast members have to negotiate a song and dance routine whilst also navigating a small sailboat!"
