Watching the news today you could be forgiven for thinking that all young people are mindless hoodlums intent on disrupting the social order in this country.
Time and time again I have seen stories of the mayhem caused by the youth up and down the UK.
That is why I was delighted to notice the young faces of reporters Chris Baynes and Robert Fisk in the rather fetching photos attached to their stories.
Not only do they provide a feast of news, but a feast for the eyes also. If there is a better example of young people doing good work in the community I cannot think of it.
It may just pay dividends if people would pay less attention to the hooded gangs and persistent loiterers who dominate the national news coverage and pick up a copy of the Croydon Guardian.
