The decision has been made to hire a trio of ambassadors who appear to be acting as some kind of information service and welcoming committee wrapped into one.

In principle it seems quite a nice idea, but I struggle to see how this will really work in practice.

Just three people to cover the whole town centre does not really seem enough.

For those looking to get information will they know where to locate them, or just walk around North End scanning for smartly dressed people with blue trim to their clothing?

With all the “pop-up” activity in Ruskin Square in the form of food markets and the like, would it not have made more sense to set up the ambassadors there so there is a fixed point for people?

I hope I am proved wrong as any initiative to make the trip to Croydon a more pleasant one for people should be welcomed.
