Most teens like me, picture what our lives would be like in the future. Many of us might do this so we can have a goal reminding us what were working to. Our dreams can be as big or as small as we make them to be or just blank. We might have images like sitting in an office designing the next car, just entering an operating room, speaking in court or teaching a class full of kids. The question is where do we get these aspirations from and why?

It can all come down to your environment at the end of the day. The more support you get from parents/carers the more high you respect your goals. Getting support from parents/carers is one of key things we need now as teenagers. We then aim high knowing our parents/carers will have our back. In the other hand what happens to those teens that get neglected about their education? Or if they are in a devastating environment will it affect their choices in life? The answer is most probably but it depends on the person. For example one of the current issues we have today is teens dealing drugs because they see family or friends do it. They really don’t have to be told to do it but they are around it so they ought to absorb it in. The point I’m trying to make is environment does affect your future.

Another thing which is influential to young peoples’ minds is the media. The media uses topics that intrigues the young people so much they can’t tell them apart from reality. Does it affect the goals they set for their future? Often we set goals for ourselves that we know we can achieve because of our current skills. For example ,Salwa Elomky “ I love biology and maths and also I am really go at it therefore I want to be a surgeon , I am not put off with bloody things so I might as well put it into use.” Students take what their interests are and set a goal from there.

Students take their personality and try to build their future goals. This is one step forward in being positive about yourself. Many adults out there in world are trying to get a job which ties into their personality well. So planning it from a teen’s stage is thoughtful. Baraah Assoui “I’d like to go into journalism because I like to argue partly to speak for people’s right and I’d love to clear all false statements in the media industry. I strongly believe being biased and putting it out in the world is destroying a lot of people’s lives.”

In conclusion if you know what your want don’t stick on it. Keep an open mind. There are bound to be other things that come; you will encounter that it will inspire you. Remember be careful in believing programmes you see on tv they either make the job really over dramatic just for views or they make the job seem really dull. Take in encounter everything I said above and work on it. Hanan Arman “I believe that at my age, teens don’t need to be involved in the urge having to know exactly what my future is going to be. Within time our prospects will rapidly change and teens shouldn’t been in havoc of demanding to chose their future career. Study hard and keep an open mind and it will come to you.”
