The announcement on the 22nd of February shed some light on the current, confusing situation. It was decided that by the 8th of March schools shall be re-opening, with all students going back to school. There has even been reassurances that the whole COVID mess shall be done by the 21st of June. Could this perhaps be the beginning of the return to normality?

On the 8th of March, schools have been arranged to reopen under the conditions that were held last year in December. This means that there still will be the regulations of having to wear masks, arranging ourselves into bubbles and having to social distance away from certain groups. Although this may not be the most ideal situation that students expected upon returning to school, this still provides some hope and yet some assurance that the world is returning to normal. This will especially provide some comfort to most students, as they may be struggling to cope with school life over an online platform. By reopening schools, this allows a more interactive learning experience and access to various clubs and activities, including sports and other means of co-curricular. Therefore, this can be considered as a positive because of the many benefits gained for students transitioning from online school.

It has also been said that on the 21st of June, everything shall return to normal. This includes schools, shops, restaurants, businesses, pubs, hairdressers, and other facilities that were previously shut down. This means that there is promise of having our daily lives returned midway through the year. This also means that people from different households and bubbles, meeting up outside or even inside will be permitted. This will be dependent on the success of the distribution and the applications of effective vaccines to the general public.

Therefore, we can say that we can be optimistic about what the future holds for this plan that is set by the government. We can have hope that we will be able to return to a position where we can finally meet up with one another, go to school, eat at restaurants, go shopping, and everything else, without being restricted by regulations or having to use an online platform.
