Is the scientific theory of hypnosis real?

Hypnosis is a method of treatment for different conditions...

Franze Anton Mesmer was a German Physician who discovered Hypnosis back in the 1700s, and gave it the name Mesmerism, but today it’s known as Hypnosis.

He believed that there was a magnetic force between everything, therefore a person or object with strong magnetic forces could easily influencing other things.

Franze Anton held a demonstration in which he showed animal magnetism which resulted in people falling into a trance, being “magically” cured from diseases, or going into convulsions (a fit).

Some of the scientists at this time didn’t believe him so they did their own research and concluded that there was no such thing as animal magnetism, but instead people were only influenced by the power of suggestion.

James Braid, another physician discovered that there was no force from the outside that made a person’s behaviour strange but on the other hand, it was the power of the mind of the person being hypnotized.

This resulted in a powerful shift which meant that hypnosis wasn’t special at all but instead everyone was capable of becoming hypnotized.

Hypnosis has a purpose for relieving pain, anxiety and stress.

Can hypnosis be dangerous?

The only dangerous thing about hypnosis is that false memories can be implemented into the person who is being hypnotized. There can also be side effects of this, which are headaches, dizziness and anxiety.
