The Classic Thriller Theatre Company’s, The Case of The Frightened Lady is a murder mystery play that presents the strange events, following a suspicious murder at the grand ancestral home of the Lebanon family. Theatre, television and film star John Partridge leads the star-studded cast, playing the role of Chief Superintendent Tanner, alongside Not Going Out’s Deborah Grant as the snooty Lady Lebanon and Coronation Street’s Philip Lowrie as the illusive butler, Kelver. Downton Abbey star Matt Barber plays the drunken and flirtatious Lord Lebanon, a character that adds an essence of comedy to the play.

The first half of the play was somewhat slow, however the second half was fast-paced and gripping, with a dramatic ending that shocked and surprised the audience, at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford, on its opening night. Audience member James Daniels ‘thoroughly enjoyed the play’. All in all, The Case of The Frightened Lady successfully entertains, leaving the audience in constant suspense with the all important question on their minds- who is the murderer?

At the end of the play, the cast encouraged the audience to donate to Acting For Others, a charity that offers financial and emotional support for actors who find themselves going through difficult times.
