On Sunday 28th January, 12 girls from Coloma Convent Girls Schools' U19s netball squad travelled to the regional finals in Kent at Rainham School for Girls, to try and gain a place at the national finals in March.

The team battled hard at the Surrey play-offs, after some close, tense matches, came out on top and won a place in the regional finals.

At the regional finals they played 7 matches in a round robin tournament. They played a fantastic match against Lady Eleanor Holles, tough for both teams, but after battling through, managed to win the game. The girls also played a coherent match against Eltham College, which proved tough and they were unlucky to lose. As it neared the end of the day, fatigue started to kick in, however this did not stop the girls, they powered through and came an outstanding 2nd overall managing to qualify for nationals. They played against 7 other teams winning 5 out of 7. Every player played an amazing game and the support from the coaches and supporters was phenomenal.

The team have now qualified for nationals for the second year in a row, last year coming an amazing 11th in the whole country.

The team had been training for regionals since September and are already back on the court getting ready for nationals on the 17th of March. We wish the girls all the best for the national finals, if they perform like they did at regionals it will be a very exciting day!
